When I first started putting this website together, I started thinking of a motto. Well, after some serious brainstorming (or maybe it wasn’t serious. I honestly don’t remember) I came up with “Let’s add oohs, ahhs, and awws to your occasion.”
So since this is my first blog post, I figured it was only right to discuss what each means in terms of calligraphy.
The Oohs
Trust me when I tell you that so many are blown away that beautiful handwriting is still a thing in this digital age. Many have commented on how most schools don’t even teach cursive anymore followed by “How will these kids know how to write their signature?!”
So yes! When guests see calligraphy (whether it’s on an envelope they receive in the mail or on their place card), they are so impressed.
The Ahhs
Once people process that a piece was handwritten, they move on to appreciating the artistry. The way their eyes follow every stroke on the paper or other material and the feel of the raised dry ink makes it a sensory experience that makes it so hard to look away.
The Awws
When was the last time you received a beautifully handwritten letter? How do you feel when you see your name gorgeously written on an envelope, place card, or seating chart? That fuzzy feeling inside that makes you place your hand over your heart is what calligraphy can evoke. With calligraphy, it’s all thought and that’s truly what counts.
So let’s chat and see how we can add oohs, ahhs, and awws to your occasion!
